By car
From the north and west, take the Inntal motorway (A12) and the Arlberg expressway (S16) to the Pians exit, then the Paznaun road (B188) to See. From Switzerland, travel via the Arlberg: the Silvretta High Alpine Road is currently closed to through traffic between Tyrol and the Montafon, so it is not a through route into the valley – check the operator’s current status if you plan to drive it as an excursion.
Approximate driving times: Munich about 3 hours, Zurich about 2.5 hours, Innsbruck about 1.25 hours, Amsterdam about 9 hours. Times vary with traffic and conditions.

The final approach to Schaller is steep. Prepare your vehicle for winter conditions and check current tyre and snow-chain requirements before travelling. A motorway vignette is required in Austria – see ASFINAG for current toll rules. Contact us if you need advice about the approach to the house.

Approximate distances and driving times, to check against current conditions when you book:
- Innsbruck (INN): about 100 km, 1.25 hours
- Zurich (ZRH): about 200 km, 2.5 hours
- Munich (MUC): about 250 km, 3 hours
- Friedrichshafen (FDH): about 150 km, 2 hours
Hire cars are available at all airports; for groups a minibus is worth it.
Check-in & parking
Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out is by 10 am. We’ll arrange the key handover with you before you travel. Four outdoor parking spaces and a garage are available at the house.
The house has three floors with stairs and no lift. If anyone in your group needs step-free access, talk to us first so we can tell you what to expect.
